Can you spot a fake email?

11 Mar 2021

RMIT recently suffered a cyber incident causing an outage to several major systems and a closure of their campuses.

Ten days of hard work by their IT team saw most systems restored by Semester start.

It's suspected that this entire incident may have been caused by phishing email.

Please be especially vigilant with email from unexpected sources, emails with file attachments, and especially emails that ask you to fill in your login credentials.

If you receive an email that you’re not sure about please don’t risk it, forward the message to our Student IT Help Desk instead and we’ll check it for you to make sure it’s safe.
