Unitywater and Sunshine Coast Lightning team up for student vacation program
14 Sep 2021
Unitywater has partnered with Sunshine Coast Lightning to add a new module on teamwork and resilience to its annual student vacation work program.
Applications are open for the vacation student intake, which will see the successful university students complete three months of paid work at Unitywater during their summer break.
University students are being encouraged to apply for the program, with 12 opportunities for this year’s intake available for students interested in pursuing careers in engineering, environmental science, IT, HR, and project management.
Unitywater Talent Acquisition Lead Brad Kent said he was excited to add another learning opportunity to the existing vacation student program. Just like professional sports teams, Unitywater wants to attract and develop the best talent.
The Sunshine Coast Lightning players are on board as additional mentors to this year’s group of vacation students, building on the great program Unitywater already delivers.
The vacation program not only gives students an opportunity to gain experience in their chosen field of study, but also to learn important skills like teamwork, agility, resilience, and leadership – and the Lightning players offer an inspiring take on that.
Sunshine Coast Lightning is excited to be involved, welcoming the vacation students to their home at USC Stadium and sharing their experience in teamwork, resilience, and leadership. These qualities will set you up for success in any career and it is hoped their session will add to the great program Unitywater already runs and help students start scoring goals for their future.
Unitywater employs more than 700 people and actively encourages candidates with all abilities and diverse backgrounds to apply.
Applications close 30 September. Visit the Unitywater Vacation Program to apply.
