Sustainability Research and Innovation (SRI) unites more than 2000 global sustainability research leaders, government and civil society experts, funders and innovators to inspire action and promote a sustainability transformation. A joint initiative of Future Earth and the Belmont Forum, this truly global, annual event sparks meaningful conversations, provides a platform to share innovative ideas, and creates an inspiring and inclusive space for collaboration and action.

About the conference

The SRI2022 : Oceania Satellite Event will take place 29 June–1 July in Brisbane. This satellite to SRI2022 will build on the outcomes of the inaugural SRI2021 Congress last year that featured more than 2000 attendees from over 100 countries. It will focus on sustainability issues and challenges unique to Oceania.

Attendees of the event will learn about the latest sustainability science and innovation, create novel networks and partnerships, explore new ideas, gain visibility, inspire and be inspired, all in a hybrid environment at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.

Here's your chance to attend the event

USC has sponsorship opportunities available for five students (two HDR/honours and three undergraduate) to take part in the Sustainability Research and Innovation (SRI) Congress – the world’s largest transdisciplinary gathering for the global sustainability community.

The registrations includeonline access to the main SRI2022 conference (20–24 June 2022), and on-site access to the SRI2022Oceania Satellite Event at QUT in Brisbane (29 June–1 July 2022). Successful applicants would be expected to attend as much of the conference as possible.

Five successful applicants will be selected based on their responses to the selection criteria on the application form.
