Nga Tana Lui Dhar: The Yarning Circle of Life (Buranga Centre Garden)
The Buranga Centre garden at UniSC Sunshine Coast was developed around the framework of the Yarning Circle of Life (Nga Tana Lui Dhar). The elements of earth, air, fire and water are universal to all Goori (human beings). In this Yarning Circle context they represent a holistic approach to learning, growth, wellbeing, development and leadership and are featured in this community gathering place.
Aunty Olga Miller garden
This garden at UniSC Fraser Coast is a dedication to Aunty Olga Miller, Butchulla Elder and traditional “Caboonya” or Keeper of the Records. Aunty Olga was a respected Aboriginal historian, author and teacher of Aboriginal culture for over 40 years.
Respected artist Aunty Joyce Watson created the magnificent artwork for the garden and based the theme of the garden around the books written by Aunty Olga. The garden incorporates significant cultural landmarks and plants from Butchulla Country.
