Rosalind Hourigan

Honorary Senior Fellow (April 2001)

Rosalind Hourigan was named an Honorary Senior Fellow in April 2001 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to regional development.

Rosalind Hourigan has quietly, unselfishly and effectively involved herself in the affairs of the Sunshine Coast region for many years. She never seeks the limelight but is profoundly influential.

She is widely respected as a businesswoman in her own right, but also as the former chair of important committees, including the Area Consultative Committee.
This Committee is the intermediary between Federal Government and local business and she chaired that Committee with the support of both Labor and the Coalition – which is testament to the sense of unassuming objectivity she brought to the role.

Whether in local or in national forums she tirelessly represents the interests of the Sunshine Coast as a region, and has been behind many of the regional efforts to have business activity coordinated and represented.
