Emeritus Professor Birgit Lohmann commenced in the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor at USC in February 2011 and attained the position of Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor in January 2016 until her retirement April 2018.
Prior to joining USC, she served in a number of leadership roles including Head of the School of Science and Director of the Centre for Quantum Dynamics at Griffith University, and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Quality) at the University of Adelaide.
Emeritus Professor Lohmann is a graduate of the University of Adelaide (Honours degree in Physics), and of Flinders University (PhD in Atomic Physics). She is an internationally known researcher in atomic and molecular physics.
