Alex McKean has been involved in the USC Law School since early 2014, joining the academic staff in September 2015. Alex has been in practice as a barrister on the Sunshine Coast since 2010, dealing primarily with personal injuries claims and other civil litigation. Prior to that, Alex worked as a solicitor in private practice for Maurice Blackburn Lawyers in Queensland.
Alex McKean teaches in the areas of civil procedure, professional conduct, advocacy and employment law. Alex is a volunteer at the Suncoast Community Legal Service and has previously been President of the Management Committee of that Service.
Alex's research interests include anti-corruption and integrity systems. He is undertaking a PhD in Law on the topic of a federal anti-corruption commission.
