Profile

Dr Lisa Daniel has a PhD in the field of Technology and Innovation Management (UQ) and a Bachelor of Science with a first-class Honours in the field of molecular plant pathology (UQ). Through her experience as a biotech research scientist she brings a rich understanding of the social side of innovation to her research into systems of entrepreneurship leveraging innovation, knowledge, and technology.

Her research utilises a system’s view to investigate and interpret the community and industry dynamics which support innovation, entrepreneurship, resilience and sustainability particularly in regional communities and agri-business industries as well as more narrowly in R&D teams, communities of practice and expert collectives. She is interested in the socio-technical, institutional and complex dynamic processes supporting the development and leverage of entrepreneurship, innovation and knowledge. Her research in these fields frequently presents a critical approach and often challenges existing preconceptions. This approach is supported by her adoption of a systems perspective, pragmatic epistemology and humanistic approach to her research.
