Mark Annandale joined the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2015 as a Senior Research Fellow with the Tropical Forests and People Research in the Faculty of Arts, Business and Law.

Mark is a senior researcher specialising in sustainable development, the interface between Indigenous community development, community forestry and mining operations. An environmental scientist, mine rehabilitation and community forestry specialist, Mark has Australian and international experience and works closely with private, public and NGO sector clients, including the establishment and management of multidisciplinary teams for project implementation. He has extensive experience across northern Australia with over 20 years’ experience in environmental management, mine rehabilitation, community forestry, engaging with Indigenous people, cross cultural communication, cultural heritage management and the lead for negotiations between Indigenous communities, government and the private sector.
