The School offers a range of undergraduate programs in generic science, environmental science, environmental management, animal ecology, mechanical and civil engineering. Several staff from the School have obtained the prestigious national Learning and Teaching Citations from the Office of Learning and Teaching. This high quality of teaching will continue as the school expands into blended learning modalities. This fundamental undergraduate knowledge forms the building blocks for our growing research programs.
Research, international development and engagement
The School has established key research areas of aquaculture, forest science and water science within the Collaborative Research Network USC Research Futures Project.
One of the University’s leading Research Centre is the GeneCology Research Centre. The exciting new physical infrastructure of the Engineering Learning Hub provide cutting edge technologies for teaching, research and engagement opportunities within the new School of Science and Engineering.
Other key research areas are:
- Stormwater Research Group who undertake cutting-edge research collaboration with industry partners to build research capacity in the area of stormwater management
- Airport Pavement Research Program which was established in 2017 to address the long-term lack of research and development in Australian airport pavement technology and practice upkeep
