Profile

Anne Bennison is a teacher educator and mathematics education researcher. Over the twenty years she has been involved in education, she has taught in secondary and tertiary settings. She is interested in the professional learning of both pre-service and in-service teachers, and how teachers translate their professional learning experiences into classroom practice. Her current research interests include finding ways to support teachers to promote numeracy learning across the curriculum, interdisciplinary collaboration in Initial Teacher Education, and sustainability and scalability of professional development initiatives.

Anne completed her doctoral studies at the University of Queensland in 2016. In 2013, she was awarded an Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) Postgraduate Student Research Award. Her doctoral thesis received a Dean’s Award for Outstanding Higher Degree by Research Theses and was nominated for the AARE Ray Debus Award for Doctoral Research in Education. She is a member of the Numeracy Across the Curriculum Research Team that was awarded a Mathematics Education Research Group of Australasia Research Award in 2016 or a significant contribution to mathematics education in the last three years.
