8 October 2013

One of Australia’s finest chamber music exports, the Australian String Quartet will perform at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Saturday 9 November.

The event, sponsored by Daisy’s Place and the Sunshine Coast Daily, will be a cultural highlight for the Sunshine Coast community.

Tickets ($50 general, $35 children and student card holders) are now on sale and include a welcome drink and canapes from 5.30pm.

All concert proceeds go directly to the University’s initiatives fund, which supports key opportunities in areas such as special student needs, academic support and innovative partnerships.

The Australian String Quartet, based at the University of Adelaide, has over the past 28 years established a strong profile as an Australian chamber music group of excellence, performing at the highest international level.

The USC event will be part of the quartet’s national concert series and include Schnittke’s String Quartet no. 3 and Beethoven’s String Quartet op 130 and Grosse Fuge.

The concert will be held at the USC Innovation Centre Auditorium from 6.30pm to 8.40pm. For details and tickets visit Australian String Quartet performance or call 5430 1104.
