USC graduate starts graphic design career

Nundah resident Gabrielle Neil has landed a high-level role with a franchise development firm in Brisbane after completing a Bachelor of Computer-Based Design at USC.

The Kingaroy State High School graduate has been employed as a senior graphic designer for Franchise Retail Brands, a company that manages a range of major food and beverage brands in Australia.

Gabrielle, 22, who was one of 1,400 students to graduate from USC this month, is now responsible for creating eye-catching graphic design content for print and digital media.

“My position requires me to work across multiple brands, so the core skills I developed during my degree, such as time management, have been invaluable,” she said.

“I developed my ability to think critically and creatively, which has been an asset when developing new brand identities as well as working within the style guides of existing brands.

”Having grown up in Kingaroy, Gabrielle said the lifestyle offered by USC’s campus on the Sunshine Coast suited her perfectly.

“I made wonderful friends and met inspiring people,” she said. “I found the tutors and lecturers to be passionate and invested in my learning, which resulted in me enjoying my time at university.”

Applications are now open for mid-year entry to study at USC, starting Semester 2 on 24 July.
