Graduands and graduates?

Breadcrumbs

You'll here the word "graduand" a lot in the lead-up and during graduation. So what does it mean?

Students who have completed all of the requirements for their degree but have not had their degree conferred are referred to as 'graduands'.

Once your degree is conferred you become a 'graduate' and a member of USC Alumni. You are then entitled to use post-nominal letters to reference your qualification.
