USC SouthBank to welcome students of 2016

Students from across Brisbane and the world will get to know the University of the Sunshine Coast’s expanding campus at Brisbane’s South Bank at orientation activities on Thursday 25 February.

With more than 150 domestic and international students expected for the start of Semester 1 on Monday 29 February, the ‘Orientation to USC SouthBank’ program will include information sessions on degrees and student support, a tour of facilities and year group photo.

USC SouthBank now operates from 52 Merivale Street in addition to its premises at Ernest Street.

Orientation will be held at the Merivale Street facility (Building A4, SW1) from 10am to 3.30pm, launching with an official welcome and Welcome to Country ceremony and ending with time for students to socialise.

USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said lunchtime would provide an informal opportunity for students to meet teachers and student mentors, as well as each other.

“2016 is an exciting year for the University of the Sunshine Coast as we celebrate our 20th anniversary,” he said.

“USC SouthBank is an integral part of our development and our commitment to provide quality education for students from across the globe.”

Students are also encouraged to attend the orientation festivities at the Sippy Downs campus on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 February, from giant games and live music to the Futsal world cup and Pool Party.
