Caboolture campus holds first Orientation Day

Hundreds of students attended USC Caboolture’s first orientation day on Monday 19 February.

The official welcome ceremony at 9.30am featured an energetic Welcome to Country, speeches by USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill and other USC leaders, and a group photo of the commencing class of 2018.

It was followed by study information sessions, live music, a free lunch and markets. Orientation activities continued at USC Caboolture on Tuesday and Wednesday.

More than 660 students have enrolled at USC Caboolture in degrees ranging from Nursing Science and Education to Business and Creative Industries.

About 5,000 students attended USC orientation events at USC’s Sippy Downs, Fraser Coast, Gympie and Caboolture campuses.

Professor Hill said orientation provided opportunities for students to meet each other and to learn academic skills that will assist them throughout their studies.

“It is also a chance for them to find out about the various groups on campus that can help make their student experience here even more fulfilling and enjoyable,” he said.
