Dennis Desmond has extensive expertise in identity security and management, data security, intelligence and defence. His experience includes roles as chief identity scientist and branch manager for the United States Special Operations Command, as a special agent in cyber investigations for the Washington Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and as an intelligence officer in the  United States Army. Dennis has won numerous awards for his achievements in the US Army, Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Defense.

Dennis relocated to Australia in 2017 and is currently undertaking ARC-funded PhD research through USC in 'Optimising illicit dark net marketplace interventions', supervised by Professors David Lacey and Paul Salmon. Dennis holds a Master of Arts from Indiana University, a Bachelor of Arts from Oregon State University and numerous certifications from the FBI and United States Army Intelligence Centre and School. He has also undertaken a National Security Fellowship for the Defense Intelligence Agency at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
