CRM105 Policing


This course introduces you to a range of issues confronting policing practice. You will be introduced to the historical context of policing and varying conceptions of the role of policing over time. The contemporary face of policing is examined through a study of the nature of police work, police culture and issues of police education, efficiency and change. Issues of police accountability are explored, including police responses to allegations of corruption. Selected contemporary challenges are investigated, including police responses to drug-related offending and offenders.
