DES103 Fundamentals of Photographic Practice

This course will develop your understanding about the history and theory of photography, and how to take effective photographs. By exploring ideas of personal interest, you will demonstrate composition, and where to place your work within the multi-disciplinary nature of photography. This course takes you beyond the automatic setting where you will learn how to use the 'functionality' of your camera in order to perform the operation of 'on location', using natural and artificial lighting. You will learn the basics of post-processing. You will need to have access to a digital camera.
