EDU734 Interlanguage Phonology


This course develops your advanced technical understanding of the processes of speech and perception as they apply to the pronunciation of learners of English. The focus is on the importance of taking a first language-specific approach to analysing and modifying the pronunciation of speakers of English as a Second Language (ESL). By the end if this course you will be able to identify potential difficulties in your students’ pronunciation and perception of English and devise strategies to maximise their communication potential.
