SCS251 Working Effectively with Aboriginal People

Breadcrumbs

Indigenous Australians generally face major disadvantages in health, education, employment, housing, and in their interactions with welfare and legal systems. Professionals in many fields (social work, health, counselling etc.) are expected to work effectively with Aboriginal people, yet often feel unprepared through their formal training. This course will provide you with relevant multidisciplinary knowledge to critique current ways of working with Aboriginal communities and develop specific strategies to effectively engage with Aboriginal people and provide culturally inclusive services.
