SWK200 Organisational and Legal Contexts for Practice


This course develops your knowledge, skills and critical awareness for working within and across statutory, not-for profit and for-profit organisations. Drawing on relevant organisational theory, research and legal information the course will critically explore current and emerging organisational, inter-agency and associated legal contexts for social work and human service practice. These include organisational structures, purposes and cultures, diverse funding sources, changing workforce composition, approaches to management and accountability, and legal dimensions of front-line practice. The course has a strong practice focus.
