Sustainable design of pavements for roads, mining, airports, industrial warehousing and freight terminals is important for safety, serviceability and structural adequacy. It affects the other phases of the ‘pavement’ life cycle: construction, operation and renewal, and maintenance. In this professional course, you apply the principles and practices of design in different contexts; test the characteristics and behaviour of materials; and interpret the results. You also solve complex problems to meets traffic and environmental demands and communicate in different ways to specialist audiences.
