This semester-long language course is undertaken at Universitas Gadjah Mada through the Australian Consortium of In-Country Indonesian Studies (ACICIS), or through another Indonesian university as negotiated by the Course Coordinator and the Faculty Dean (FABL). As with IND220, Students gain formal language instruction alongside first-hand experience in the speech community and the culture of Indonesia. However, in the second semester in-country, a fieldwork research option may be undertaken by third or fourth year students.
