Planet Earth is in the midst of rapid ecological change and human activities are increasingly contributing to outbreaks of organisms that damage the both economy and the environment. Biosecurity deals with managing and reducing the threats to the natural environment, agricultural ecosystems and humans from introduced or invasive animals, plants and diseases. In this course you will examine the risks associated with a range of pests, diseases and invasive species through industry field trips and lab practicals. You will also examine ways to prevent threats, reduce risks and manage outbreaks and pest organisms.
