This course provides you with an advanced level of supervised professional experience in two or more clinical settings. You will undertake a total of 360 hours of work placement engaging in exercise delivery for: clients with neurological, neuromuscular or musculoskeletal conditions (140+ hours); clients with cardiorespiratory or metabolic conditions (140+ hours); and clients within any clinical category (80+ hours). All clinical consultations that occur during placements are to be recorded in Exercise and Sport Science Australia standard clinical logbooks. These courses are completed off-campus at clinical placement sites. Selection of suitable placement sites will be negotiated with the course co-ordinator and placement co-ordinator. During placements you will retain contact with USC supervisors via two forms of communication eg telephone, email, Blackboard, or Skype. To facilitate off campus completion of placements, it is generally expected that no face-to-face lectures will be scheduled for Year 4 students during semesters 1 and 2. All face-to-face courses at SPX4XX level are delivered as intensives. The course is delivered across two semesters: Semester 1: SPX401A, SPX401B Semester 2: SPX401C, SPX401D.
