We are conducting a research study to investigate where drivers look and what they pay attention to on the road.

Participants are invited to view a series of short videos filmed from the perspective of a driver and answer a series of questions about their driving experiences. Participants are asked to come back for two follow up testing sessions over a period of 8-12 months, or the time spent learning to drive.

Sessions last for no longer than 1 hour and participants will receive a $20 Coles-Myer gift card after each session to reimburse them for their time. A combined total of $60 for completing all sessions.

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • are fluent in English;
  • have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (i.e., good vision with or without glasses/contacts); AND
  • fit one of the following driver categories:
    • Learner
      recently obtained a learner driver licence (less than 10 driving hours);
      intend to obtain it in the next 9 months

    • Provisional (P1)
      obtained a provisional (P1) driver licence within the last 6 months
      aged 17-25 years

For more information or to express your interest in participating, please email Rachael Wynne or visit the driving research page.
