Theatre Orderly Positions - Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital - closing soon!

Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital has two theatre orderly positions available for immediate start. This position provides great opportunity for nursing students to see how an operating theatre works and commence working in the health care sector.

Successful candidates will be required to:

  • walk patients to their theatre trolley
  • position patients for their procedure
  • connect cabling to medical equipment
  • push the patient trolley into/out of theatre
  • clean the theatre and general areas, and more.

Please note: In some procedures, you will be required to participate in the procedure and assist the Doctor under direct supervision.

We require that you will be able to:

  • follow instruction and received constructive direction from staff and Doctors
  • adhere to the principles of Standard and Transmission-based Precautions
  • work between 7am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and work from 4-10hr shifts
  • perform effective hand hygiene
  • perform basic computer tasks
  • complete relevant employment competencies
  • thrive in a high pressure surgical environment

As there is a significant amount of manual handling involved in the position, physical strength is an asset.

Students will assist Harmony Hunter to develop:

  • strategies on how to promote and introduce Aden's Choice line of products to relative stores in Australia

YouTube and social media whiz - Kids Matters Occupational Therapy - Brisbane QLD

Kids Matters OT, Brisbane's largest and most dynamic Occupational Therapy clinic, is seeking a casual social media person to help develop and manage the YouTube and social media aspect of our business.

This position involves setting up a new project to interview parents, teenagers and kids about their journey with a disability (learning, motor, sensory or other), and how they have overcome these challenges. We want to present this as a short, snappy and inspirational format through YouTube that is then linked to Facebook, Instagram and our website.

This first point of contact must be fun, professional, inspirational and entertaining and serve both as inspiration for potential clients and marketing for Kids Matters.

We need you to:

  • love social media and be competent in setting this up in all it's forms
  • be able to film, edit and upload clips with backgrounds, music, subtitles and more
  • be a team player and take initiative, be creative while able to accept direction and feedback
  • be flexible and willing to work in with existing branding and standards

PACE Mentoring Opportunities for Students with Disability - Australian Network on Disability

PACE mentoring is an opportunity for students with disability to gain valuable skills and advice on how to be successful in gaining employment and explore career path options with an industry professional.

PACE recognises that students with disability frequently find themselves with little or no work experience, and may not be fully aware of the skills and attributes they can offer an organisation. The program is a 3-month commitment during which time the mentors and mentees will meet approximately 6-8 times.

Mentees benefit from accessing the mentor’s accumulated knowledge and expertise, and being guided in their professional development and goal setting. Mentees may also work on interview techniques, resumes and putting together an impressive cover letter.

The aim is to give participants a range of skills, experiences and advice about the workforce, as well as providing mentors with a rewarding professional developmental experience.
