The Centre for Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems is now recruiting participants for a study of visual attention in driving. The aim of this study is to learn about how drivers observe and search their visual environment while driving.

Participants are invited to watch short driving videos while the researcher monitors eye gaze and asks questions about the driving experience. Participants will be asked to return for two follow-up sessions over a period of 8 -12 months.

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • are fluent in English
  • have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (i.e. not dependent on glasses, contact lenses are OK)
  • are under the age of 25 years, and;
  • currently hold an Australian learner or P1 provisional (red P-plates) driver licence.

Each session will last for 1 hour and participants will receive a $20 Coles-Myer gift card at the end of each session as reimbursement for your time (combined total of $60 for completing all 3 sessions). Sessions will be held at USC, Sippy Downs.

To express your interest in participating, please fill in the EOI form. The study will be open until 31 August 2018.
