Environmental management / environmental science student project opportunities with Noosa Council in Semester 1, 2018

Noosa Council is looking for motivated, hard-working undergraduate students to join their team in Semester 1, 2018 and work on five projects in the following areas: GIS technology, wildlife ecology and conservation, plant ecology, animal ecology and environmental management.

Students will work remotely and independently, accessing resources at USC and meeting with their Project Supervisor at Noosa Council weekly or fortnightly.

The projects are available for students enrolled in an environmental science, environmental management or sustainability related program, preferably enrolled in their final year in 2018. It is expected that projects will be undertaken as part of the course WPL310 Workplace Learning I.

Graduate journalist – WHS, HR & employment law NSW

We are looking for someone who could become a commercially-savvy journalist able to write in Plain English about WHS matters, HR management and employment law. So if you have done a pure law or business degree, or a degree in WHS or HR, and you would like to be a reporter, then we’d love to hear from you. We’re also happy to hear from communications graduates too provided they have studied or had direct experience in WHS, HR management or employment law.

As this job involves a lot of reporting on developments in the law, we will look favourably on anyone who has studied law in any way. You could have studied a full law degree, an elective in one of our other target degrees, a diploma at TAFE or even HSC Legal Studies.
Our new colleague should be able to read and understand Legal English and be able to write in Plain English.

As our products are aimed at an audience of commercial people then it’s important to us that you have an affinity or empathy with the interests of the business community. You should also have developed a strong work ethic through being in paid employment. So please tell us about the bar, restaurant, supermarket and any other kinds of jobs you may have had.
