LANTITE is the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education. It was implemented by the Australian Government on 1 July 2016 to demonstrate that initial teacher education students are in the top 30% of the adult population in terms of personal literacy and numeracy skills. The standard in the test has been determined by reference to existing frameworks for adult competency in literacy and numeracy, in particular the Australian Core Skills Framework and the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies.
How to register for LANTITE tests
How to sit for LANTITE tests
Students complete the test in two parts; Literacy test (two hours) and Numeracy test (two hours). It is recommended that the test be completed in one day (commencing with the two-hour test with one hour break time, followed by the final two hour test).
LANTITE is set by ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research). There are four test windows in each calendar year.

How to prepare for LANTITE
Practice tests and test information is available on the ACER website.
Resitting LANTITE tests
Students have up to three opportunities to sit the test. You only need to demonstrate once that you have met the standard for each test component. Test results from all previous test windows are transferrable and do not expire. If you sat the test and met the standard for one test component, you only need to register for and re-sit the test component that you were unsuccessful in.
