Consent is Sexy promotes awareness and the practise of respect, consent and open discussion; responsible, safer sex; sexual health and emotional wellbeing; and gender equality and equality of rights in relationships. It initiates discussion on interpersonal and relationship abuse, sexual assault, intimate partner rape and acquaintance or date rape; and gender discrimination and homophobia.
The campaign aims for university students to gain an increased understanding and appreciation of the principles and practise of respect, consent and open discussion. It reinforces positive behaviour through increased knowledge and positive attitudes towards sexual consent. Expected outcomes are for students to be more informed about their sexual rights and more confident at negotiating boundaries and resolving differences in their intimate and other relationships through open, respectful communication.
You will see our student ambassadors out and about on campus please feel welcome to come up and say hi! You can ask our ambassadors questions about consent and they will have resources for you to take away. You are also invited to be a part of the campaign by registering to be trained as a ‘Consent is Sexy’ ambassador.
