Merit scholarships
At UniSC, we're all about promoting ingenuity, thought power and creativity. We offer many scholarships and bursaries which reward, recognise and celebrate significant academic achievement, leadership, sporting excellence, community service and more.
Equity scholarships
Education has the potential to transform lives and communities. If you have demonstrated financial need, identify as an Indigenous Australian or Australian South Sea Islander, are a person with a disability, or are from an equity group, know that you belong at UniSC and we are here to support you.
Regional scholarships
We have a number of scholarships and bursaries available for students who need to move away from home to access higher education or are studying at a regional UniSC campus. This can help cover the costs of moving and living expenses, relieving financial stress so you can focus on your studies.
Indigenous students
Indigenous and Australian South Sea Islander students are encouraged to apply for a range of scholarships and bursaries. These can provide financial support throughout your studies to relieve financial pressures.
Research students
If you are considering undertaking a Higher Degree by Research (HDR), UniSC has a range of scholarship opportunities available. Scholarships can cover living stipend, tuition fees or top up scholarships.
International students
We offer a range of scholarship opportunities to our international students. These can help relieve financial stress so you can focus on your studies and enjoy your time at UniSC.
Academic prizes and awards
Prizes and Awards are sponsored by a number of different donors to support students and acknowledge high academic achievement during study and upon graduation.
How to apply
You can apply for most scholarships using one form through APPLYUSC. Create a new account if you have not received your offer to study. New and continuing students can use their UniSC username and password with their student ID number as the application number.
Supporting documents
Prepare your supporting documents before you apply. Each scholarship will require different information but could include:
- Personal statement: outline your community service, volunteering and/or leadership experience (no documents necessary).
- Financial need: three recent consecutive payslips for you and your partner, Centrelink statement and other income information (i.e. rental income).
- Medical support: medical reports from your doctor/psychologist, Centrelink statement showing Disability Pension and Learning Access Plan (LAP) from AccessAbility Services.
- Indigenous heritage: Confirmation of Aboriginality (COA), Centrelink statement showing receipt of ABSTUDY or a statutory declaration (contact Indigenous Services)
- Living status: Centrelink statement showing percentage of care of dependents (sole parent) or Centrelink statement showing Carer Payment/Allowance.
