Peter Schwammberger is currently completing his PhD, entitled ‘Understanding the Stormwater Pollution Treatment Processes of Floating Wetland Treatment Systems in Urban Environments’ at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Part of his research will involve monitoring and evaluating the performance of a $1 million floating wetland treatment system located in a manmade lake at the Parklakes 2 development in Bli Bli.
Peter has both research and industry experience in urban water systems, having completed a Master of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2012 before going on to work as a Project Manager/Engineer. Peter’s industry experience saw him specialising in water research, in particular using different technologies to improve water quality in urban infrastructure projects.
Peter has worked on many other industry projects including road constructions, land recycling, geothermal energy and geotechnical and hydraulic engineering, however he is passionate about water quality in the urban environment.
