The Centre for Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems (CHFSS) examines the interaction between people, technology and the environment and what can and does go wrong. The Centre brings together experts from various disciplines to conduct collaborative research on issues impacting safety and productivity.

The award-winning Adolescent Risk Research Unit aims to understand the nature of adolescent risk taking ­– particularly in the area of young novice driver road safety – by examining social influence, mental health and other contributing factors.
