Pēpi-Pod® Program Service Provider Support Information

Breadcrumbs

This is advance notice that we have simplified data collection for the Pēpi-Pod® Program Service as this Program moves from a research project into health service delivery. The new forms and processes take effect from 1 July 2017 or sooner if your orders contain them.

The changes have been made to reduce workloads and improve efficiency at your end, yet still collect important monitoring information and be accountable for the funds allocated.

Here is what is changing:

  • There will be one single PPP DATA RECORD for all of consent, distribution, follow-up and data entry processes:
    • The new form will be included in each bedding pack supplied with the pod, beginning immediately – so as to always be available and with no need to print copies
    • it will be numbered automatically with the Pēpi-Pod® Program Unique ID No.
    • it will include a simple checklist of process steps so that a single form can be used by more than one person, where a team approach is taken.
  • There will be only TWO contacts for data collection – 1. distribution and 2. follow-up.
    • The feedback survey will be dropped
    • The follow-up contact will be moved out to when a baby is 6-8 weeks old
    • The follow-up contact will be a snap shot of safe sleep practice and user experience at the peak age for infant vulnerability.
  • There will be only ONE data entry requirement after completing both Distribution and Follow-up sessions.
    • The electronic data form is loaded here if you would like to preview it.
    • The paper form is loaded here if you would like to preview it.
  • The PPP Data Record continues to include Wahakura services, and any other ‘in-bed capable’ safer infant sleeping device
    • For retrieved Pēpi-Pods®, Wahakura and any other ‘in-bed capable’ sleep space device there will be no Data Record enclosed
    • In these situations, Data Records will need to be copied and a local system for device ID recorded on the Data Record.
  • The PPP Data Record is a combined record for sleep spaces issued in NZ, and in Australia where the programme is developing.
