The Tropical Aquaculture team at USC has developed strong ties with the Australian Government - particularly through the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) - an Australian Government statutory authority within the Foreign Affairs portfolio.
ACIAR invests in applied research to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability and food resilience in developing countries.
Through the ACIAR-funded work, we have developed collaborative research partnerships with the governments of several countries in the Indo-Pacific including, Fiji, Tonga, PNG, Samoa, New Caledonia, Kiribati, the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia and with countries further afield, including Tanzania and Mexico.
We also have strong collaborative links with regional bodies and intergovernmental organisations including the WorldFish Centre, the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, and with international non-government organisations including the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
All of our research activities are funded by the ACIAR Fisheries Program.
