Sunshine Coast Lightning team doctor

Born and bred in Queensland, Matthew has been a professional NRL player, physiotherapist and now a doctor.

After playing in the NRL for the Gold Coast Titans, his first job as a physiotherapist was with netball.

In 2000 he returned to medical school and in 2007 became a General Practitioner. Subsequently he studied musculoskeletal and sports medicine in Christchurch, New Zealand.

He has been a Chief Medical Officer for teams in the Queensland Cup Rugby League competition since 2008. He is also the current team doctor for Melbourne Storm’s U20’s team.
