The competitiveness of swimming is the driving factor for Leah's success in the pool. Starting in 2005 at the age of 10, Leah was always interested in where she placed in every race. This competitiveness has continued to push Leah's career further and further. Describing the 200m freestyle as her main event, she admits she enjoys the 400m freestyle even more. In terms of goals, Leah sees the World Championships as a "stepping stone" for her major goal- the Olympics next year in Tokyo. She made her first senior Dolphins team in 2015 at the World Championships and Leah's silver medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the Rio Olympics is the highlight of her career. Currently in between her second and third year of a Sport and Exercise degree at USC, Leah hopes to go back and do a Masters degree in Physiology when her current degree is finished.
