UniSC High Performance Student Athletes prepare to immerse themselves in the Fijian sporting culture

This year the University of Sunshine Coast High Performance Student Athletes’ have the opportunity to participate in a two week study tour of Fiji, developing their cross-cultural sports knowledge and enhancing sports diplomacy with our Pacific neighbours.

The Student Athletes will visit Fijian national sporting organisations such as the Fiji Rugby, Netball, Swimming and Paralympics organisations. They will also take part in trialing Fijian water sports, coach junior athletes and sit in classes at the University of the South Pacific.

The tours are funded by the Australian Governments New Colombo Plan, a signature initiative that aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.
