Sunshine Coast Intervarsity Tournament 2021 (SCIT)

The inaugural Sunshine Coast Intervarsity Tournament will be held 11-14 July 2021 at the USC Sports Precinct, USC Sunshine Coast. Trials for this event will be open to all USC students and take place later in the year. This event will see universities from across Queensland and Northern NSW compete in a range of different sports.
Sports:
- Mixed Futsal (10 teams)
- Mixed Netball (10 teams)
- Mixed Volleyball (10 teams)
- Mens & Womens 3x3 Basketball (20 teams)
- Mixed Touch Football (10 teams)
The SCIT program will start with an Opening Ceremony on Sunday 11 July at 4.30pm with an exciting line up of live entertainment. Details below. In between sporting fixtures there will be time to take in the sights of the beautiful Sunshine Coast and the program will include some organised unique Sunshine Coast Experiences.

1pm: arrival at USC Sunshine Coast, team registrations
2pm: Round 1, all sports
4.30pm: 'Welcome to USC', social event with live entertainment
Monday 12 July -
8am: Rounds 2/3/4 of competition
Tuesday 13 July -
8am: Unique Sunshine Coast Experiences (details to the right)
2pm: Rounds 5/6 of competition
Wednesday 14 July -
8am: Quarter Finals, Mascot Races, Semi Finals, Grand Finals with entertainment and prizes on offer

Entertainment Schedule:
SCIT Opening Event - Sunday 11 July, 2021, 4.30pm-7.30pm
Location: Carpark 12A in front of main Stadium entrance, USC Sport Precinct, 32 Olympic Way, Sippy Downs
Following team registrations and Round 1 of sporting competition, USC will be hosting an Opening Event. The evening entertainment will include live bands and performers, food vans and a bar. The event is free and open to the public.

Flux Entertainment, Australian professional high standard fire artistry!
Flip Antics, Acrobatics and circus performing duo.
Jason Daniels, Sunshine Coast based groover has been performing for the last 5 years with over 300 shows to date. His music is an energetic blend of singer/songwriter, reggae and groove, taking influence from John Denver all the way to James Bay.
Jamison, The USC student has been pursuing a career in music since she was 15. She is completing a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in music and is aiming for a career creating and performing her own songs.
Fat Mosquito, the rock band hailing from Coolum Beach and comprised of four musicians. Jack on vocals and rhythm guitar, Richard on lead guitar, Sam on bass, and Ryan on the drums. They are passionate about original rock music and are currently working on recording an album which will be released sometime in the near future. Their influences consist of rock bands such as AC/DC, Jet, Powderfinger, Foo Fighters, Green Day and Oasis.

Tree Top Challenge, Sunshine Coast, Big Pineapple:

Our Adventure Park is suspended amongst 10acres of stunning coastal rainforest where we take you ski-high(over 30m on our highest courses!!!) to experience stunning views from the tree canopy. Throughout your epic adventure you will experience 120 exciting high ropes games while gliding along 12 ziplines spanning from 20m to 140m in length. Located at The Big Pineapple , our high ropes adventure park is unlike anything you will do on the Sunshine Coast! Featuring six unique courses which start off easy and working up to heart-pumping extreme and with totally new challenges crafted just for the Sunshine Coast our high ropes courses will appeal to the dare-devil in everyone in your group!

Ride on Mary, Kayak & Bike Bush Adventures:
Outdoor Adventure in the beautiful Mary Valley, Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Arise early to see the sunrise over the waters of the Yabba Creek whilst exploring the Mary River tributary. Chance to see the elusive Platypus, protected Lungfish and other wildlife by Kayak. Your guided tour will be a gentle 1.5 -2hrs of kayaking on mostly flat water.
You will then have a Breakfast break to power up to further explore the Mary Valley. A guided scenic Bike Tour that will take you along the Mary Valley Rail Trail and into the Imbil Forest. Aprox 1.5 - 2hrs
Arrival - 5.45am, Depart - 11.30am
$125 per person, Max number of attendees 6 (minimum 4)
