Dr Bishnu Sharma is a Senior Lecturer in Management at USC. Bishnu received his PhD in management from the University of Technology, Sydney. He holds a masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Production Management from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK and a postgraduate diploma from the Research Institute for Management Science (RVB), Holland.
Bishnu is a co-author of management textbooks published by McGraw Hill. He has published several research articles in international journals and case studies in management books. Bishnu's research interests are in the areas of strategy, quality management, small business management, performance management, social marketing and tourism management. As a guest editor he has also edited the special issue of International Journal of Business Performance Management published by Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
Bishnu has presented in national and international conferences in Australia, France, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Malaysia, India, Greece, Turkey, Philippines, and Hong Kong. Bishnu has also won the Best Paper awards for the paper that he co-authored with Associate Professor Bernice Kotey in the 'Small Business' track of the ICSB 2012 World Conference, for the papers he co-authored with Dr Maria Raciti at the INSM Conference 2010 and in the 'Sustainable and Social Marketing' track of the ANZMAC 2009 Conference, and for the papers that he co-authored with Professor Andy Hede at the 'Small Business and Entrepreneurship' stream of the ANZAM 2009 and 2004 conferences. Bishnu has also received the Citation of Excellence Emerald award for the paper that he co-authored with Professor David Gadenne in 2001.
Bishnu has taught introductory management, strategic management, international management, quality management, operations management, logistics management and applied research methods in Australian universities since 1993. Bishnu has also worked for several years in Nepal as a strategic planning and development consultant.
Bishnu is currently the peer adviser and approver for all School of Business ethics applications.
