Dr Denise Beaudequin

Profile

Dr Denise Beaudequin has expertise in applied statistics and project management in a variety of fields including injury surveillance; safety performance measurement; health services research and quality improvement; and microbiological risk assessment.

Before completing her PhD in statistical science at Queensland University of Technology with Distinguished Professor Kerrie Mengersen, Dr Beaudequin coordinated a multi-site injury surveillance program, worked as a measurement consultant in the rail industry, and contributed to research on a number of public health issues, including injury control and health impacts of climate change. Prior to commencing with USC, her most recent work, with Queensland Health, involved the state-wide dissemination and evaluation of a novel digital health intervention for persistent pain.

Dr Beaudequin has an undergraduate degree in Science and Master’s degrees in Environmental and Community Health, and in Nursing. Her doctoral research focussed on statistical modelling of public health risk in water recycling, using Bayesian networks.

Drawing on her experience in probabilistic modelling, and on her clinical and research backgrounds, Dr Beaudequin will work across projects at Thompson Institute using data-driven statistical approaches to develop transdiagnostic models to assist with early identification and intervention in mental health disorders.
