Dr Peter Blanchard is an early career researcher specialising in international business and trade. Prior to becoming an academic, Peter, worked for 40 years in industry and government where he specialised in international trade and development policy, e-commerce and electronic payments. His in depth knowledge of both industry and government enables him to direct his research in an applied practical manner.
Peter’s research focuses on the way in which business makes commercial decisions in response to the market, policy and legal environment in which it operates in the international arena. As a result, his research is multi-disciplinary incorporating, law, economics, politics and history. Importantly, his research emphasises the role that individuals play in affecting commercial decisions and outcomes.
Peter has taught a range of international business subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels mainly in international trade, international commercial law, business strategy and marketing.
