Dr Rob McDougall has been involved with the teaching of mathematics for more than 35 years in a variety of settings and conducting research in mathematics and mathematics education for more than 15 years. He enjoys the respect of peers and students in this regard, has often been a nominee for excellence in teaching awards, and has also received a Dean's commendation for outstanding performance in research.

Potential research projects for HDR and Honour students

To date, Rob has supervised SRP301 projects in Elements of ring theory and radical theory, Methods of proof in number theory, and Fundamentals of topology. Honours supervision for graduate Topics in Pure Mathematics has also been successfully completed.

Rob is happy to have any of these areas explored for deeper study.

Research grants

Rob has worked as the USC Institutional Coordinator for the RUN "DigiClassroom' Project, and is currently working with an engagement grant as part of a team to develop the local Mathematics Network for pre-service, early career, school leader and retired teachers.
