Stephen Heimans is a scholar who is committed to working on problems connected to equity, equality, knowledge and education. He has published in leading education research journals, for example Journal of Education Policy, Discourse Studies in the Cultural Politics of Education, and the US based journal Educational Policy (see the article Education Policy, Practice and Power ). He has an Education Policy Research monograph under review with Springer (in a series on Education Policy and Social Inequality). His work focuses on the problems and possibilities of education policy enactment research and defining and creating lasting positive change with education institutions through long-term, strong and sustainable policy-research partnerships. He develops and conducts educational ‘fieldwork in philosophy’ projects exploring the purposes and practices of education in collaboration with policymakers, education institutions and communities.
