Professor Marion Gray

Profile

Professor Marion Gray joined the University of the Sunshine Coast in July 2011. She is the co-Discipline Leader of Occupational Therapy (OT) and Associate Dean (Research).

Her previous post was as a teaching and research academic at James Cook University, Australia (JCU) for 5 years. Where she held the position of Associate Professor, Postgraduate/Research Co-ordinator, OT and Co-Chair, Research Committee, School of Public Health, Tropical Medicine and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Marion completed her OT qualifications and Research Masters (bioethics) in Otago and her PhD (Public Health) at the Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Otago, NZ.

She undertook her Postdoctoral training in environmental epidemiology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington DC, focusing on the link between trace elements and prostate disease.

Marion completed a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching in 2012 and has been the recipient of two National Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (2009; 2010).

She has 68 peer reviewed journal publications, 4 book chapters and has successfully supervised 28 HDR and honours students to graduation.

Marion is a Visiting Fellow in Allied Health with the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service; an Adjunct Professor with the College of Healthcare Sciences, James Cook University and a member of the Australia/NZ Council of OT Educators.
