Angie has been practicing in the field of social work and community development since completing her Bachelor Degree in 1992. This has included direct practice and management roles within government and community-based organisations working with young people, women, communities, health and education, both in Australia and the United Kingdom. Community work is embedded within her practice framework and she has had the incredible opportunity to explore its use through 30 years of practice within the sector.

In 2000, Angie established a private consultancy practice specialising in research, strategic planning/review and professional supervision. Through this consultancy work, she was able to grow her knowledge of local government, charitable and community organisations, disability work, homelessness, cultural diversity, eating issues, community enterprises and the human services sector more broadly.

Angie 25 years' experience supervising social work students on placement as an agency supervisor, liaison officer and external supervisor. She has held liaison and external supervision roles with the University of the Sunshine Coast, University of Queensland, Deakin University, Monash University and James Cook University.

She has a commitment to lifelong learning and a particular interest in both First Nations work and the use of arts-based practice within community development, group and individual work. Angie believes there is ongoing potential to further incorporate First Nation knowledge and experience within the practice of Field Education.
