Tony is an educational specialist with over 30 years of teaching and research experience. He currently consults for USC’s Centre for International Development, Social Entrepreneurship and Leadership (USC – CIDSEL) as their Lead Advisor (Education), and is a sessional staff member connected to USC’s School of Education.
His research interests focus on Education vs the Value-Adding to the in-class learning outcomes of learners, the Building, Application, and Reviewing of Contextualised Knowledge to Value-Add to the Learning of Participants engaged in USC – CIDSEL Workshops, Feedback – Feedforward Learning, Effective Schools, Focused Guidance, Entrepreneurial Education, Sustainability, Assessment and Quality teachers and leaners.
Tony has previously worked in Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as conducting workshops for the Department of Education Vanuatu. He was Lead Academic (Principal Program) for USC’s GPFD 2.8 million dollar DFAT project in Indonesia (Papua), and is currently engaged in a number of research projects in Vietnam, for USC-CIDSEL, focusing on ethnic minority groups, sustainability, future Vietnamese citizenship, and English as a Foreign Language.
He has co-authored a number of peer reviewed journal articles on preservice teacher education, in addition to co-authoring a book on preservice teacher education. Tony has also published papers, spoken at conferences and delivered workshops, in both Vietnam and Indonesia, on principal leadership, assessment, ethnic minorities, value-adding, assessment and feedback feed-forward learning.
