Dr Trong Tran was awarded a PhD degree in Organic Chemistry from Griffith University in 2015. From 2015 to 2017, he undertook a postdoctoral research in National Cancer Institute – US National Institutes of Health. In 2017, he was awarded the SIEF STEM+ Business research fellowship and started working in the University of Sunshine Coast. In 2021, he was promoted to a lecturer in chemistry.
Dr Tran has supervised several honour and PhD students. He has extensive research experience in natural product drug discovery and analysis with a focus on bioactive compounds in Queensland’s tropical rainforest plants, honey and propolis. At the university of the Sunshine Coast, he also directs his research to metabolomics and lipidomics.
